Supporting the whole child: nutrition, movement and wellbeing at Senses ELC

At Senses Early Learning Centre, we believe that nurturing the whole child goes far beyond early education. From what’s on their plate to how they move, rest and connect with others, our approach is grounded in wellbeing at every level.

Here’s how we support children’s health and development through nutrition, movement and wellbeing—every single day.

Fresh, nourishing meals—made with love

Good food fuels growing bodies and minds. That’s why our in-house chef, Steven, prepares fresh, nutritious meals each day that are both delicious and tailored to the unique needs of young children.

We cater to all dietary requirements, preferences and cultural considerations—so every child feels included, safe and nourished. From wholesome lunches to healthy snacks, our seasonal menus are thoughtfully planned to support energy, immunity and optimal development.

Daily movement to build strong, confident bodies

Movement isn’t just part of our day—it’s part of our philosophy. From obstacle courses and yoga to dancing, climbing and free outdoor play, our children are constantly moving, exploring and developing essential gross motor skills.

Movement also supports focus, emotional regulation and resilience. It’s how children build confidence in their abilities and joy in their achievements.

Mindful wellbeing in every moment

Wellbeing at Senses ELC is embedded in our daily rituals. Whether it’s through quiet rest, sensory play or mindful breathing exercises, we create a calm and caring environment where every child feels seen, heard and supported.

Our educators form meaningful connections with each child to foster emotional wellbeing and a deep sense of belonging. We guide children through their big emotions, help them learn social skills and empower them to thrive—both now and into the future.

Coming this spring: preschool swimming lessons

We’re excited to announce that swimming lessons will be launching for our preschool-aged children this spring! These sessions will be held weekly during the warmer months and are designed to help children build water confidence and essential safety skills in a supportive and fun environment.
